Little Known Facts About Juventus
Juventus has come a long way as a football team with a history that goes back to the 19th century where it was just as common then as it is now to establish a football team if you had enough funding to do so.
- Foundations. In 1897 Turin, a northern city in Italy, the economy was doing well enough for citizens from the south to move up for a good chance that they would find work. The wealth of local traders made it possible for the city to start their own football team.
- Why black and white. Initially, the Ronaldo Juventus jersey looked nothing like it does today and consisted of a white shirt and black shorts. It is hard to believe that this attire then evolved into a pink shirt which was quick to wash out and, because of this, one of the players was asked to find a replacement. He was a fan of a local English team, Notts county, whose kit colours resembled what Juventus’ are to this day.
- Calciopoli scandal. This event is a regrettable part of the team's history that involved match-fixing where telephone calls between team managers were leaked and revealed them to be organising referees. The consequence of this was the withdrawal of the team’s 2004 - 2005 titles and their downgrade from the top league to the last place.
